2 unscrew the section that is loose.

4 reattach pole and screw on until tight.

To take it apart start by taking the screws off the foundation.
Remove the light bulb from the socket.
The electrical cord will be pulled up through the lamp.
Do not lose any of the pieces.
Usually there is a nut that holds a shade on or if the lamp has an open glass top there is a nut around the socket.
Place a small piece of electrical tape on the extra cord to hold it.
If not take it apart again and proceed with the following steps.
You will want 6 of the cord extending above the lamp.
Unscrew the nut and lift off the shade or top.

3 take a small piece of duct tape and wrap it around the inner grooves of the pole.
Run it in the lamp and then through the socket.

If a bulb flickers when you turn on the lamp you may only need to tighten the bulb in its socket.
Loose screws may have been the lamp s only problem.
Remove the shade or top of the floor lamp.
