How to remove chipboard from floor.
All my floors squeak like hell.
Ive done most of the walls and am now onto the floor.
Made a nice collection of sawdust.
Hello folks i was wondering if i could get some tips from you all for cutting up tongue and groove chipboard flooring because today when the joiner took up a section off the floor there was pipes very very close to the tops of the joists and right underneath the flooring.
We ve recently re fitted our bathroom and im not onto the tiling stage.
The chipboard flooring sheets slide up and down the ribbed nails whenever you step anywhere near producing the ominous.
The issue i have is that the floor is 20mm tongue groove chipboard which in my ignorance looked nice and flat and so i thought would be a good base to tile to having screwed it down solidly and sealed it.
In my ensuite bathroom i used my bosch circular saw with the blade set to 18mm depth the depth of the t g and ran it along the floor edge up against the internal partition walls.
It looks like the guy that tiled the floor used wall tile adhesive not waterproof and use textured wall paint to grout the floor and for good measure he grouted the toilet and sink pedestal into the floor.
Looking for advise on how to remove the tiles from the chipboard floor so i can get lino down.
Got a job on tomorrow which involves lifting quite a bit of chipboard floor ive had to lift them before but only small hatches whereas tomorrow id prefer to lift whole sheets done a bit of research and dont like the sounds of cutting within the joists and bridging.
After a very short time a matter of weeks is not uncommon the joists settle and the central heating causes the chipboard flooring to warp.
I need to lift modern tongue groove chipboard flooring.
Oct 22 2007 1 doing a bathroom and en suite have removed old adhesive from en suite with sds drill with chisel tried a floor scraper but nothing doing and plyed out.
I know youre supposed to recess pipes or cables crossing beams but when i took the floor up in the en suite there was a pipe that was right up tight against the underside of the chipboard and if i hadn t cut a test hole first i would have cut through it.
I have been tackling exactly the problems you mention in my 15 year old house which has that god awful t g chipboard flooring.
I ve had one attempt so far and i eh.
The chipboard flooring is typically nailed to the joists with 2 ribbed nails.
