You may want to try 100 cotton mat and backing inside a plastic presentation bag.

Next center the artwork on the mounting board and place the mat board on top to make sure the mat board covers the art correctly.

Then peel the adhesive strip from the back of the mounting strips slide under the print and press down.
The art work size is typically 1 2 larger than the opening size so you can have an overlap to stick the art work to the back of the mat.

The image will safe from dust dirt in the bag and with only 100 unbuffered cotton touching the image edge it should be fairly safe.
If your frame is especially large you may want to use several sections of tape to get the job done.
Press firmly on the back of the tape to ensure it is well adhered to the mat.
