Position the chisel sideways in such a way that it will hit what is under the tile and not direct the pressure on the concrete.
How to remove tile grout from concrete floor.
Let the power tool do the work.
Fit the oscillating tool with a blade specially intended for removing tile grout.
If the tile refuses to loosen up despite all your efforts try to use a small jackhammer.
To prevent the tiles from cracking the floor also needs to be level.
Strike the face of stubborn tiles to break them up for easier removal.
2 hammer your 1 in 2 5 cm putty knife at a 45 degree angle to the thinset.
If it is too attached to the concrete just continue hammering until you are able to completely lift off the tile.
Do not force it.
Use the second pass to remove the majority of the mortar leaving only the hardest remnants on the surface of the concrete.
Use a 3 4 or 1 in.
Firmly hit the end of the knife with the flat end of a 2 lb 0 91 kg hand maul.

Work the chisel between the tiles and the concrete hammering them up with a 2 lb.
On the third pass remove these hard remnants reducing all the mortar to dust.
Use multiple passes to remove the mortar.
Some thinset mortar can be removed by using a chipping hammer with a scraper attachment.
Start at a broken tile or between tiles where the grout has loosened.

Use short jabbing motions to get under the mortar and pop it from the floor.

Work the chisel under the tiles forcing them loose.
Tilt the chisel and try to lift the tile upwards.
After the old tiles were removed there were still large areas of thinset stuck to the concrete that were obviously not level.
Start by holding the tool horizontally or vertically in the case of vertical seams turning on the power and lightly pressing the blade to the grout.
But if the mortar is stubborn you may have to go directly to the big tools.
Since i m putting down new large sized floor tiles getting the old tiles off was just the first step.
