While laminate flooring floor tiles hardwood flooring and vinyl plank flooring all have different installation methods the formula for how to measure for flooring remains the same.
How to measure center back to floor.
We ve put together this simple guide to help you calculate how much flooring you need.
The bone that protrudes is where you will begin your measurements.
Once you find the center spot take your measuring tape and hold it in place with your right hand while letting the tap fall naturally along your back.
Once the room is square find the midpoints of the chalk lines draw intersecting lines across the floor and the midpoint is the intersection of those lines.
Take the length and multiply it by the width to get the area of floor space in square units.
You might be able to do this a little easier by bending your head towards the floor.
Measure again in the same direction a few feet away and mark the center point of that line as well.
For instance if one wall is 10 feet 3 0 m and the other is 8 feet 2 4 m multiply these to get a total floor space area of 80 feet 24 m square.
This is similar to squaring a floor for hardwood flooring.
Measure the room s length and mark the center point on the floor in chalk.
Hand circumference measure around the palm of your dominate hand which is usually just below the knuckles.
Position the back of your heel at the beginning of the tape and the measure to your longest toe.
